One can invest time, money and effort. According to Thoreau, these things become failures alone. These things don't always benefit us; if they do, it's only for a small amount of time. However, we can invest in good things. Whether it may be school, in others or even ourselves. There are limited amount of things we have under control, and doing things from our own good will, is one of them. We must take this into consideration and invest in good deeds.
