Student Success Statement #61

"Character is higher than intellect."
{ Ralph Waldo Emerson }

Though having good character has advantages, I do not believe it is higher or better than intellect. Having a character that is considered "belevolent" or "orthadox" won't solve any problems. Having a good character will earn you respect, trust and perhaps friends, but what use will any of that do if at the end none of it will be meaningful. Because of a person's intellectual abilities many things have been discovered - things far beyond human access and far beyond "good character" can grasp.
